The mechanism

The chart shows two lines across a year of deals. The red line jumps up and down at random - some great months, some dead ones - because sales rides on relationships instead of a set process. The dark line rises steadily and predictably because there's a system behind it. When your wins come from luck, you can't reproduce them on purpose, and what you can't repeat you can't improve.
