Size the Downside

The chart splits into two paths from a bet you can't prove will work. The left path waits to feel certain, certainty never comes, the quarter passes, and a competitor learns it first. The right path asks three questions - is it survivable, is it worth learning, is the cost capped - and if yes, runs a small, bounded test. Once the downside is capped, the decision stops being a gamble.
