The mechanism

The chart is a three-part circle. At the top, "feast": delivery is full, business development stops, and revenue looks great. Next, "gap": the pipeline is empty but earlier deals are still paying out, so it feels fine when it isn't. Then "famine": revenue falls and panic outreach begins, which wins a project and resets the whole loop. The 60-90 day delay between stopping outreach and feeling the drop is what hides the danger and keeps the cycle turning.
