The mechanism

Lines start at the same low point on the left, where everything is priced by the market, and fan out to the right as you become the specialist. The green lines for strategy work, retainers, and campaigns climb steeply, while the red lines for website builds and production work stay nearly flat. A shaded band is labeled the premium lives in judgment, not hours. Buyers will pay far more for judgment they can't get anywhere else, but only the going rate for tasks anyone can do.
